Referral Program

The Referral Program lets your clients refer friends and family in exchange for account credit — a lightweight growth channel that runs on top of your existing client base, separate from your agency-to-agency referral program.

Required Role

Enabling the module (Settings → Plugins) requires an Admin Data Access role. Once enabled, staff manage it under Promotion → Referrals.

Enabling It

Turn on the Referral Program card under Settings → Integrations & Plugins → All Plugins (AgentManager modules group). It's priced at A$9/month; enabling it turns on both the staff-facing Promotion menu and the client-facing Referrals tab in the client portal.

The Client's Experience

Once enabled, clients see a Referrals tab in their client portal showing:

  • Their current referral credit balance
  • A shareable referral link (or an "email it to a friend" option)
  • The status of everyone they've referred — Invited, Signed up, Reward earned, Not eligible, or Expired
  • A credit history ledger

A friend who signs up via a shared link lands on a public, token-based signup page — no account or client ID needed to view it.

Staff Dashboard

Under Promotion → Referrals, staff see stat tiles (total referrals, converted, credit issued, credit outstanding) and two tabs:

  • Referrals — every referral, with actions to Mark converted (issues the credit), Reject (reverses any credit already issued), or Link client for cases where the referred person's client record wasn't linked automatically
  • Promotion Codes — optional limited-time codes you can create and send, on top of the always-on default offer

Credit is issued automatically when a referred lead converts through the normal pipeline, or manually via Mark converted.

Applying Credit to an Invoice

When creating or editing an invoice for a client with a credit balance, a Referral credit available field appears — enter an amount (capped at the balance) or click Use all to apply it directly to the invoice total.
