Skill Assessment Overview

What is a Skill Assessment?

A skills assessment is an evaluation of an overseas worker's qualifications and experience against Australian standards. It is required for many Australian skilled migration visas (e.g. Subclass 189, 190, 491) and is conducted by authorised assessing bodies such as:

  • Engineers Australia — engineering occupations
  • VETASSESS — a wide range of trade and professional occupations
  • ACS (Australian Computer Society) — ICT occupations
  • AIPT — personal trainers and fitness professionals
  • ACWA — community services and welfare workers

Overview Statistics

  • Total Applications — count of all skill assessment applications in the system. Clicking View All navigates to the Status Tracker showing every application across all statuses.

  • Workflow Step Cards — one card per configured tracker step, displaying the count and percentage of total applications at that stage. Clicking any step card navigates to the Status Tracker pre-filtered to that step, so you immediately see only the applications at that stage.

The step cards are driven by your organisation's configured workflow and may differ between services.

Charts and Breakdowns

  • Skill Assessment Success Breakdown — pie chart displaying the split of Successful, In Progress, and Rejected applications; supports date range filtering
  • Popular Occupations — ranked list of the most common ANZSCO occupations in your applications, showing application volume and approval rate; sortable by volume or approval rate
